CMI supported Ouest Croissance and BPI France in acquiring stakes in Sodeprint Group, a company specialized in the production of secondary cardboard packaging, as part of the Group’s shareholder restructuring.
As part of this secondary LBO, the holding company acquired Malengé, a specialist in the design and manufacture of flexible packaging made from eco-responsible paper.
With full expertise across all stages of flat cardboard processing, the Group employed 120 people in 2022 and generated nearly €40 million in revenue that same year. Historically based in the Yonne region and active in the food packaging sector, Sodeprint expanded in 2020 with the acquisition of a second site in western France, allowing it to move into the premium packaging segment. The acquisition of Malengé reinforces this growth trajectory and further reflects the Group’s strengthened commitment to CSR.
In addition to analyzing the resilience of Sodeprint’s core flat cardboard operations amid a challenging macroeconomic environment, the due diligence focused on evaluating the company’s strategic fundamentals and the relevance of its merger with Malengé. Our work highlighted the Group’s key differentiators and its widely recognized expertise, valued by a loyal customer base.
We extend our best wishes to the Sodeprint team and their new partners—Ouest Croissance, Bpifrance, and Capitem—for continued success in this new chapter.
