CMI is proud to have conducted the strategic vendor due diligence of EDS Emballage, working alongside Financière de Courcelles
The process led to B&Capital becoming the reference shareholder of the Vendée-based specialist in packaging for fresh food counters, through a primary buyout (LBO) alongside the management team, which reinvests in the company.
A specialist in packaging for fresh food counters
Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Saint-Philbert-de-Bouaine (Vendée), EDS Emballage supplies technical packaging solutions to the butchery, fish and deli counters of French food retailers: trays, films, takeaway packaging and labels. The company is positioned on modified atmosphere (MAP) and skin packaging technologies, which extend product shelf life, and relies on a co-development model with leading industrial partners.
With more than 40 employees, EDS Emballage serves over 1,400 customers, mainly stores of the major French food retail banners. Its integrated logistics platform of more than 9,100 m², recently extended, allows it to deliver its customers within 24 to 72 hours.
A new stage of development with a committed partner
The transaction completes a succession process that began in 2021 with the arrival of François-Emerick de Forville as CEO. He continues to lead the company with his team and reinvests in its capital, while Emmanuel de Misouard, who has led the company since 2012, remains involved. The growth plan rests on four priorities: broadening the customer base and banner coverage, extending the offer to new counters and segments, continuing product innovation, and pursuing external growth in a still highly fragmented market. It comes as the food packaging industry undergoes a demanding transition driven by the EU PPWR regulation and the French AGEC law, notably on recyclability.
CMI led an in-depth strategic vendor due diligence covering EDS Emballage’s markets, examining their size and dynamics, the regulatory and competitive landscape, and the company’s differentiated positioning and growth outlook.
CMI thanks the teams at EDS Emballage (Emmanuel de Misouard, François-Emerick de Forville) and Financière de Courcelles (Jonathan Bursztyn, Hubert Pernes, Brice Ah-Voun, Ewen Hamon) for their trust and collaboration throughout this project, and wishes EDS Emballage and B&Capital (Philippe Zurawski, Nicolas Lozowski, Alexy Petitfils) every success in this new phase of development.
Congratulations to the CMI team: Nicolas Kandel, Xavier Fontaine, Vincent Meugé, Rodrigue Fassanaro, Elisa de Figueiredo
