Infrastructure operators

Players who aspire to max out their assets

Developing a telecom infrastructure is capital intensive, initially and over time. Infrastructure operators (RAN operators, TowerCos, FiberCos, data centers, etc.) must therefore optimize usage of their infrastructure (maximizing the number of customers, pooling, etc.) while seeking to improve operational performance to reduce operating costs and maximize profit.

The rapid emergence of AI and the exponential role of data in all sectors of activity, B2B and B2C, requires increasingly numerous and large infrastructures, with subsequent impacts to the environment (data centers expected to double their share of global electricity consumption within just two years from 2% in 2024 to 4% in 2026)

Capital needs of infrastructure operators trigger mergers and acquisitions which CMI can support on behalf of its Private Equity customers.

CMI supports infrastructure operators in three ways:

  • evaluating growth potential in new territories or markets,
  • evaluating opportunities to acquire networks,
  • evaluating investments to further expand infrastructures

We provide our clients with deep expertise gained in infrastructure analysis and strategic due diligence, know-how in economic and financial modeling, and extensive experience in B2B marketing.

We also help clients optimize operational performance through audits and process redesign, leveraging Six Sigma, and/or consider outsourcing some of their activity to better focus on others. Finally, thanks to our expertise in sustainability, we help clients evaluate their investments in light of both network resilience requirements and environmental impact.
